Cassidy Majack ADV Ceramics Period 4
Throughout this semester I have learned how to properly sit at the wheel as well as how to properly foot. When footing I have learned how to use each tool and how to use wheel speeds when trimming or centering. I have also learned many techniques on how to throw by pulling up when using my knuckle and how to use a pin tool on a project when the rim is too thin. I have learned how to alter my project when it is off the wheel and how to incorporate negative space into projects.
I put alot of effort into this class when throwing glazing and blogging. When throwing, I make sure that I am centering and pulling up the right way and using my tools correctly. Before it goes into the bisque kiln, I put time and effort into carving something into the side of it, such as flowers and words. I have also stayed after school most days of the week for extra practice when throwing. When I am done throwing, I clean my wheel as well as tools/rings/bat.
Something that I can focus on during the next quarter to learn more is being more open to other opinions and ideas. Also cleaning up properly with my team to get full credit, and staying after school to practice.
